A framed antique hand-colored woodblock engraving from an 1860 issue of Harper’s Weekly. The piece is titled “The American Turf—Portraits of Favorite Horses” and depicts six famous horses of the period: Ethan Allen, Patchen, Tom Wonder, Toronto Chief, Messenger, and Plowboy. The print is colored in beautiful muted shades of blue, brown, and green and custom framed in a giltwood frame with black bevel.
Measures: 21” wide by 17.5” tall
Condition: fair vintage condition; some wear to the frame and mat board as pictured
